Run!

haha- some great quotes:

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle--when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Sir Roger Bannister, 4 min mile.

"In terms of stress relief and sensual pleasure, running is what you have in your life before you have sex. The equipment and desire come factory installed...." - McDougall, Born To Run

I just started the book BORN TO RUN by Christopher McDougall and love it! This weekend is my first half marathon of 2010- the Miami ING marathon. I have been knocking out the miles for two weeks since I registered. With a 10 miler Tuesday morning before work. Living a crazy lifestyle like this keeps me motivated! Yes, weekends are a great time for distance runs- but why the hell not any day I choose?

Its an empowering thing to run - to see what your body is capable of- to feel the blessings that God has given to you- to enjoy the sport. I have only HIM to thank for giving me the desire, capability, and passion for running and will never take it for granted.

Critic

Teddy Roosevelt "It is not the critic who counts...but the man in the ring, standing bloody and bruised by the fight, jeered at by the crowd, but still in the fight, still doing something, instead of just hurling comments from the stands.."It is not the critic who counts! Don't be your own worst critic. Stay in the ring and make things happen.

Sometimes I am my own worst critic!

Embrace

This is the time of my life! I feel limitless- I can pick up at the drop of a hat and travel anywhere as long as Im back by Monday morning! There is nothing missing in my life as I have an inner peace knowing that God is with me wherever I am.

I have a strong faith, stronger relationship, and strong love.

I am excited to make a difference and give to those in hard times by joining the American Cancer Society. Through funding and research, I believe one day there will be an end to several types of cancer! Because of the personal ties I have to cancer and the stories of it breaking my family - I want to devote as much as I can to this cause.

Can't stop beating

I feel like my heart can't stop beating. Everytime I think of him there are butterflys. I feel like I am on a cloud and the earth is spinning so fast all around me! I must gain control, I must come back to reality - but just the thought of him makes me feel faint! I am breath-taken.

We have only been on 5 dates now- but I feel that there is something there! I just wish I knew if he felt the same! Am I crazy in love?!

I must turn my affection - but I can't. I must keep myself from falling hard- but I have already dove deep into the ocean of romance and the waves are making it hard to catch my breath.

All I know is that what I am feeling is real and that I can't turn away from it.

Self perspective creates our reality

Today I realized that life is all about what we make of it. Its all our self created perspective that allows us to have a good or a bad day. If we decide to do what truly makes us happy and live without regret or always wishing for something better, we will experience the fullest life anyone could ever experience.

I was talking to my roommate yesterday and realized that there are several things in my life that I have given up on that I want to pursue again. Like guitar! ;)

Perspective creates reality. Once I took a photography class and did a project of photos inspired by one word- Perception. Its what we see through the lens and decide to focus in on that creates a unique piece of art. In life, its what we decide to focus on that creates our overall state of happiness.

Growing up in a religious home, I also truly believe that this happiness (or internal joy) comes essentially from God. That He created us to long for it and knows what will give us that ultimate satisfaction in life. So if we ask Him, He will reveal what areas in our lives will bring that.
